Planning Parties Online
You have surely heard of evite and maybe you are familiar with mypunchbowl and sendomatic too. They’re all decent online tools for planning a casual and/or last minute party. Each service has pros: Sendomatic is ad-free, mypunchbowl lets you secretly designate certain invitees as VIPs, and evite enables you to create a talking party personality. All of these sites are fun and easy to use. However, if I were to use an online party planning site like this, I would probably choose pingg.
pingg is an online invitation service offering outstanding images and designs for your invites. These images are really better than average; I’ve selected a few I like and included them below.
You can even upload photos to create custom invitations with pingg. Other features of this site include money collection, detailed reports on RSVPs and page views, pdf creation, guest list management, and surroundSend which allows you to post your invitation on the web or send it via text message among other options.
I’d still choose a beautifully-crafted paper invitation for most events, but, in certain instances, these online invitation services fill our needs. In those times, I will use pingg.

Hey, I saw your blog and could not help to comment. You should check out Planypus (http://planyp.us) (disclaimer: I’m the founder). Planypus offers a completely custom design. In fact, the planspace is really a wiki. You can add your own pictures, movies, sound bytes, and have full MS-word like editing. Also our planning is democratic so it really brings party planning to life.
Cheers!

Thanks for the tip, Alex! I just checked out Planypus and I think it looks fantastic. Friends can really make plans more easily with Planypus, and I love how Planypus will notify friends of details via email, text message, websites, and so on. Good luck with Planypus!
