I’ve admired the products from Erin Condren for quite some time, and, because I’ve been needing some casual and fun family gift cards, I just recently placed an order for these gift labels:

FYI - the anchor labels are under the sorority section on the website, but I chose them since my husband is in the Navy (which, of course, means the whole family is in the Navy.)  Anyway, imagine my surprise when I opened my package yesterday and received more than just my gift labels!  I found the following note:

Who doesn’t enjoy fresh flowers, especially when their fragrance is fabulous?!  If you happen to have a Magnolia tree in your backyard, like I do, cut a bloom and float it in a dish for pure delight. 

I happen to have another fresh arrangement in my home right now thanks to Mr. LuSHHus who bought a bunch of beautiful yellow tulips at the store upon my return to town a couple of days ago.  My pictures don’t do them justice; they are very lovely and I am so impressed he got yellow (which happens to be the color of placemats I have setting the table right now!) and that he arranged them himself.

My very favorite blogger has just reinvented her website called Hostess with the Mostess.  The new site was just launched yesterday!  Hostess with the Mostess has been around for a while, but now it’s new and improved with tips and ideas for all your entertaining needs.  The Entertaining 101 section is a must-read for any aspiring hostess, and you will get endless inspiration on what to gift every recipient on your list here.  There are theme ideas for every type of party imaginable; I especially love this orange and chocolate theme (pictured above).  Check this site out.  You will surely be impressed with the seemingly endless content (which is updated regularly) and the outstanding design of the site.

lululemon is a Canadian company that sells functional and stylish workout attire.  They target “individuals that work, play and share [their] vision of creating healthier, happier and more fun lives.”  I have grown to love lululemon products and just about everything for which this company stands.  Check out the lululemon website here to see if there is a store near you, and if there is, go!

On my most recent visit to the lululemon store near me, I picked up a flyer about goal setting.  Everything this company does seems to be helpful and inspirational, and this goal planner is certainly that.  In particular, I liked the tips on how to make sure your goals are reasonable and realistic, in other words how to make them SMART.  Goals should be:

• Specific
• Measurable
• Attainable
• Realistic
• Timely

Another aspect of the flyer that I think is important is the suggestion to strive for a balanced life by setting goals in three areas: career, health, and personal.  Don’t focus on just one aspect of your life; reach for balance by improving yourself in all three areas.

I just found this fantastic device here. With this speaker, you can listen to your iPod on your bike without using headphones (using headphones on your bike goes against, of course, the “safety first” concept.) All you do is clamp the speaker onto your bike frame.  There is also a remote control which mounts right next to your handlebars for easy controlling. I can think of several people (sister, brother-in-law, self) who all could use this!
